Doctorate of Physical Therapy

The Transitional DPT online program that I looked at enhancing my physical therapy degree was a non traditional way of achieving a higher level degree. Because I had my undergrad and masters in physical therapy, the next logical step to further my degree would be with a Doctorate. I know that with a schedule like mine that I could never just do a classroom based degree, and with the increase of the internet based classes and colleges out there I could find an option that would fulfill my needs.

In addition to the doctorate in physical therapy, I also considered a public health online masters degree. At ATSU, this would also be something that I could do for my career. This of course right now would move me away from directly practicing in physical therapy into more of a general knowledge of medical practices in my office. I was really considering both of these degrees, maybe I would do both. It really was up to me as to what I wanted to pursue, and like in undergrad I would have to figure it out weighing all of the pros and cons for how I envisioned my career to go.

Golf Course Jobs Soar in Popularity During Recession

The face of employment is changing as a result of the recession. People who stayed at jobs for a long time because of job security are now realizing that job security is almost never a guarantee. Many people are re-thinking their approach to work and embarking on new paths that will allow them to do work that they enjoy even if it's a little bit risky. After all, all employment is risky right now. At least these people will be able to like the work that they are doing during the time that they get to do it.

Golf course jobs are an example of a type of job that more and more people are pursuing today. Many people have thought in the past that a golf job would be an ideal job to have. However, they weren't sure if it was realistic to get an education in golf and then to make a career in this field. They wanted something more secure. Now that people are shifting their priorities in employment, attendance at schools like SDGA is climbing. At least with a golf job these people can get excited about going to work! Sure, it may be tough to find work but that's true for every industry these days.
