Doctorate of Physical Therapy

The Transitional DPT online program that I looked at enhancing my physical therapy degree was a non traditional way of achieving a higher level degree. Because I had my undergrad and masters in physical therapy, the next logical step to further my degree would be with a Doctorate. I know that with a schedule like mine that I could never just do a classroom based degree, and with the increase of the internet based classes and colleges out there I could find an option that would fulfill my needs.

In addition to the doctorate in physical therapy, I also considered a public health online masters degree. At ATSU, this would also be something that I could do for my career. This of course right now would move me away from directly practicing in physical therapy into more of a general knowledge of medical practices in my office. I was really considering both of these degrees, maybe I would do both. It really was up to me as to what I wanted to pursue, and like in undergrad I would have to figure it out weighing all of the pros and cons for how I envisioned my career to go.

I think that it is really important to continue your education even though you are in your professional career. This helps you continue to learn even though you are actually in the field.

I am confused about what "transitional doctor" degree means. If it is transitional, does that mean that you get an actual accreditation or not? Is it the same as an actual doctor's degree? Can anyone answer these questions for me?

I think that online studies makes it really easy to earn your degree online. When a friend and I were on a vacation to Chicago last summer, she brought along her laptop and was able to still do her classwork in between sightseeing and going out to eat. We still had a lot of fun!

Remember that before you enroll in a college like Allied Medical, to make sure that their programs are accredited and reputable. It's important to get a solid education from a respectable institution!

Did you know that some jobs will help you pay for your tuition if you are employed there? I used to work at a company owned by a university and we would get free classes. It is a great way to continue your education.

What is audiology? I know what physical therapy is, but I didn't know if having an audiology degree means that you are an hearing doctor? Does this mean that you help people with hearing aids?
