One of the things that college students are notorious for is that they never cook for themselves and instead always eat out at restaurants and fast food establishments. This is generally looked down upon as a waste of money and a trend towards an unhealthy diet. However, for some students, dining out is a way of improving their education.
What if you were getting culinary arts training in Chicago at the Chicago Cooking Institute? Since you spend all day learning the ins and outs of the restaurant industry, spending your evenings at restaurants is actually just going to supplement what you are learning in class. You can get some idea of how your education is implemented in the real world and start seeing which restaurants you may want to work in some day.
The problem is that you have to make sure not to fall into the traps that plague your college peers. You don't gain much from eating at fast food establishments (in terms of either education or nutrition) so you have to choose good restaurants and yet find a way to make sure that you don't spend money you don't have as a college student. It's a tricky balance but it can be done.
